Ivy's first holiday was up to Northumbria. A week beside Hadrian's Wall, returning via the Lake District. Joined the National Trust: a family membership of course. Lovely.

I notice that some reminders of NZ are featured - the unfurling fern frond - exquisite composition with barbed wire fence. Everything is so green!
Ivy is lovely too & seems so calm & wise.
You did well to get away on holiday so soon. I recall taking hours to get ready with new baby for a simple afternoon tea in the next suburb (we were the invitees, not the hosts!)

Strictly speaking, perhaps this is true, but as a tourist, and a romantic, I followed Wikipedia's lead: "In a modern sense, Northumbria is mainly used by the tourist board as a romantic name for the North East of England." (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northumbria)
